REMNANTS
2022 - 2023

The Remnants series are pencil drawings of SNR’s (supernova remnants) based on de-constructed photographs from Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes. The SNR’s are photographed in different spectrums of light invisible to the human eye, a method often used when photographing objects in space.

Observing the stars at night have been the cornerstone of our natural history and science. The drawings titles are descriptions and names of supernovae from different cultures all over the world throughout the ages.

The work poetically reflects upon how stars are perishing before our eyes. In many places on earth, it is no longer possible to view stars at night due to light pollution. We view stars today through the eyes of space telescopes and in light that we cannot see.
